In 1952, Spinrite as it is known today was formed by our founder, David Hay, using the land and buildings originally operated under the name of Maitland Spinning Mills. Operations started on a small scale, but with a lot of hard work, they were soon able to establish Spinrite as a leading player in the craft industry. Today, Spinrite employs approximately 1,200 people and has several locations across North America. We are the largest marketer of craft yarns and consumer sewing thread in North America. Looking to the future, Spinrite’s goal is to be the largest inspiration-driven company for makers all over the world.
