Design Works Crafts was founded in 1987 by Susan and Dan Knopp. Susan had been employed as a needlework designer for various companies and decided to "go out on her own" that year. Dan, was a computer specialist for a bearing & power transmission company and knew that his business savy would help Susan devote her talents to new and innovative products.
